I, for one, welcome Shanghai as our new creative world capital

I've lived in Shanghai for 8 months, and what I most remember about this ravishing city is the incredible energy, the buzz, the high speed, the strive for excellence in all matters, coupled with a gaudiness in going about it (yes, I am ignoring all troubling aspects of the Chinese polity for the purposes of this post).

It is my belief that Shanghai will become the world capital for visual design in the next 5-10 years.

Just look at this flyer for a recent visit of Jan Chipchase to W&K Shanghai:

Would that flyer have looked as cool in New York, Berlin, Paris, or Los Angeles? Nope! Maybe Tokyo could represent, but soon, Shanghai's designers will influence the whole world.
